In-Ground Frame "Rib System" Installation Guide
from BattingNets.com :: Other Instructions
Components included with each "Rib Section":
Tools needed:
Steps:
1) Lay-out the cross-members to identify the location for your holes -- the cross-members are 15'W, and elbow fittings will add approx 1-2" to the width.
2) Mark the location for your up-rights using wood stakes.
3) Equally space each set of stakes. The recommended spacing between each rib section is as follows:
Tip: To ensure the layout is equally squared, you should "X measure" the 2 outside up-rights -- 4-section should measure 59' & a 5-section should measure 73'6" -- see the following diagrams for assistance: 4-section / 5-section.
4) Dig holes for up-right support sleeves -- holes should be approx 10" in diameter & 24" deep.
5)
Insert sleeve (with cap end down) into hole.
Tips: Use a level to ensure sleeves are straight at a 90 degree angle.
If using a cable-system, angle the end up-right sections approx 3" outward
-- see side-view diagram
for details -- this is to compensate for the torque created by the cable,
which will pull the up-rights slightly inward.
6)
Fill concrete to ground-level before concrete has set.
Tip: Verify sleeves are still properly spaced by lining up cross-members
& elbow-fittings with sleeve, before concrete has set.
7) Once the concrete has set, install up-rights & cross-members with the help of an assistant. Tighten elbow set-screws with an allen-wrench.
8) Proceed to install your hardware kit (if ordered). See more details about installing your cable kit here.
