Top Netting Questions
xNetSeal is not required for outdoor use, but it is recommended for Nylon netting used in high-moisture climates and will extend the life-span.
xYou can greatly increase the life of your outdoor net by taking it down during the off season.
xRepetitive abrasion from balls, exposure to UV rays, exposure to harsh weather, incorrect application, animal damage or vandalism.
xThe # symbol and number refer to the gauge of the net. With netting, the higher the gauge, the thicker the material, the longer the lifespan of the net
xThe best material for use, indoors or out, is Nylon with NetSeal. However, many of our customer choose Poly for their outdoor nets, because the material is water-resistant without any additional seals.
xAll of our batting cage tunnels are knotted. Knotted netting means that the twine, where it intersects to create the grid, is tied in a knot.
xBoth are excellent against the elements, creating a layer of water-resistance & extra UV Inhibitors.
Latex is a water-based solution, and Varnish (paint) is an oil-based solution.
xTwisted netting has a higher abrasion resistance than braided, because twisted has less surface area than braided. This allows the balls to slide and spin off of the surface.
xThe mesh size of the net depends on the type of sport it's going to be used for: 3/4" or 7/8" for Golf, 1-1/2" for Hockey, Tennis and Lacrosse, 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" for Baseball, Softball, and Cricket, & 4" for Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Football
